A lovely biodynamic Viognier that’s both fresh and unusually rich and textured for the variety.
I sometimes find Viogniers a bit too floral and tutti-fruity for my taste, but this one shows excellent varietal character without being over the top.
The low yields (less than half the norm here) really show in the full flavors and concentration here.
From a tiny producer and importer, there’s no press at all on this. But if you look at the caliber of restaurants that pour it (and I pored over pages of them looking for something other than my word to sell this!), it’s clearly the real article.
Certainly, this could proudly stand beside (or even above) many Condrieus at 3 to five times this price.
