Morris actually found this as extraordinary as the grand cru, saying:
Picked first at 8am on the first day (13.9%). Medium deep purple, the nose comes across as a bit fresher than the Clos du Roi. Indeed, there is greater precision to the nose, less over-ripe. Stricter fruit, still dark, some blackcurrant with the raspberry. Becomes richer at the finish and really fills out the back palate. More tannins, but fully ripe, and very long.
