This remarkable and quite small (5 hectares) vineyard runs between the Galician shoreline and the forest at the edge of the sea. The vines are over 60 years old, growing on poles so the ocean breezes dry, shrivel and flavor the grapes.
The winery says:
Pale gold color, green tinge. Powerful aroma with a great profile of the Albariño grape type, all of it with a background of citrus; herbal and floral tones of excellent intensity. Crisp, clean and fresh underpinned by a well balanced acidity. In the palate appear notes of apple, pear, mint… pleasant, silky, round and a light mineral touch at the end. A gorgeous bouquet.
A textbook Albariño: examples like this are generally over $30.
