This historic property, with vineyards dating to the 14 th Century, has risen under the guidance of Hubert de Bouard (of Angelus fame) to be one of the finest cru Bourgeois of the Medoc. It’s made in a more supple and approachable style than its nearest neighbor, Chateau Potensac – and for now remains far more reasonable.
Like other top Bordeaux properties, Blaignan pulls out all the stops: with a green harvest, intensive grape sorting and a second wine to improve the quality of the first. The results are one of the loveliest of all Medoc reds.
