This vintage dated Blanc de Blancs is simply South Africa’s finest sparkling wine. From a single vineyard of incredibly low yielding Chardonnay vines on Franschhoek Mountain, and made only in top vintages. Both vintages so far, 2009 and 2012 won the Amorin Cap Classique Challenge as South Africa’s best sparkling wine.
Winemaker Wyland Grobler says:
We believed we had a winner with our first foray into the world of Cap Classique, when we identified an exceptional low-yielding Chardonnay vineyard on the sandstone slopes of the Franschhoek Mountain. These accolades are testament to this remarkable vineyard and to Rickety Bridge’s commitment to excellence and consistency, and affirm the exceptional quality of Cap Classiques from the Franschhoek Valley.
This will stand proudly beside any Blanc de Blancs Champagne. A brilliant achievement.
