This is from what is now the oldest producing Cabernet vineyard in Walla Walla, and one of the oldest in the State.
Now if you’ve had Walla Walla Cabernet at its best, like this (or say Leonetti), you’ll know that they combine the richness and ripeness of Napa (the summer days are even warmer here) with the vibrance, complexity and class almost of a top Bordeaux (partly due to the much cooler nights here).
This is a big one, at 14.8% alcohol, but also beautifully balanced. And I especially like that unlike many Walla Walla Cabernets, which often show more tart red fruits, this is much more a black fruit sort of Cabernet: deep, brooding and powerfully structured.
