We carried this excellent Cabernet a few years ago (and it was very popular), but haven’t seen it since. But then, most of it is sold in Argentina itself.
It’s from one of the oldest family-owned producers in Agrelo, the top Mendoza sub-zone, with superb Mountain vineyards of old vines (some of the oldest Cabernet vines in Mendoza) at 3300 feet in the foothills of the Andes. With only 6 inches of rainfall a year, these old Cabernet vines produce very rich, ripe, intense and concentrated fruit.
Les Perdices is little known in the US, and there’s no press on this. (Aside from very good Vivino reviews:
Delicious - dark chocolate notes on the nose and nice smoothness on the tongue
Very drinkable - beware as it's easy to keep enjoying and go through the whole bottle without noticing!
Excellent and very smooth
Charleston wine, so smooth
(And my favorite…)
Bloody good nosh, and the wine wasn’t too bad either! Ha! What! Texture like triple velvet - soft soft soft - and an after taste to really set the cat amongst the pigeons. My mother tasted it and it was enough to teach the old dog new tricks!
(From a British dude, of course…but he’s right: this is bloody good nosh!)
