The only publication to have rated this, Vinous, rates it the best Belle Glos Pinot ever…which it certainly should be.
As Joseph Wagner explains, he knew this incredible cool coastal vineyard, which he helped plant when he was in high school, could produce top-notch Burgundian Pinot Noirs. So beginning with this 2011 vintage, he brought in one of Burgundy’s best winemakers to do just that.
Bottled only in magnums (with a special wax seal and label), Wagner then patiently waited to release this great Pinot when he thought it was ready.
Forbes Magazine says:
Complex nose with dried thyme, forest floor and cherry blossoms that had a stunning texture with just the right amount of structure that gave a precision to the wine balanced by a small amount of fleshiness that was lifted by the crisp acidity.
Belle Glos lovers (and yes also Burgundy fans) should surely have this in their cellars.
