At 92-93, this is Vinous’ top-rated Pepiere Muscadet in 2015. David Schildknect says:
Last tasted in late July 2016 – more than a year ahead of its anticipated bottling – this delivers an unusually rich, polished palate impression while retaining vivacity and refreshment thanks to juicy ripe pear and fresh lime. The mineral and animal dimensions – anticipated on the nose – suggest sea breeze and urchin roe, yielding a savor that positively milks the salivary glands. This is going to be fascinating to follow and likely to stand among the high points for Muscadet of its vintage.
This exceptional cru, based on deeply fissured granite, clay and sand, spends a full 30 months on its lees before bottling.
