This is still young, and a bit more dense and closed, but once again it’s clearly a Brunello-level wine. And at a fantastic price.
Parker’s Vintage Chart, by the way, rates 2015 Chianti a 95-point vintage, along with 2004 and 1997. It gives the 2016 vintage 97 points, the highest score of any Chianti vintage in the chart.
Based on this knockout wine, and the remarkable 2016 Piaggia Il Sasso we just tasted (which will also be in the tasting), we believe it.
An even richer, deeper, more complete and impressive Chianti than the 95-point 2015…and a steal at only $25.
