The rarest and perhaps most extraordinary of all. Only about 50 cases made, and the only other store to have it is at $80.
This one is a real powerhouse, and built to age.
Bargreen says:
Coming entirely from the Dionysus Vineyard, the ‘Living In The Limelight’ shows beautiful purple rose petals on the nose, with black tea, green bell pepper and suggestions of blackberry pie. The palate is complex and seamless, with a brilliant core of black and blue fruits, with espresso grounds and scorched earthy undercurrents. Tannic, big and bold, yet very seamless, this is not for the weary and will continue to evolve for at least another fifteen years.
And Vinous:
Bright ruby-red. Aromas of blueberry, blackberry, licorice, black pepper and minerals convey a slightly inky character. Densely packed and highly concentrated but with a light touch thanks to its sound balance of sweetness and acidity. The dark berry flavors are not yet particularly complex or expressive but this wine has the energy, inner-mouth floral lift and tannic structure to gain with age. Finishes juicy, firm and very long. I like this style but it calls for patience. (15% alcohol)
One of America’s finest Petit Verdots.
