From steep clay and limestone vineyards, facing southwest a la Hermitage, in the Southern part of the Northern Rhone. This is serious Syrah!
Livingstone-Learmonth gives it four stars, the best rating ever for Texier’s Brezeme, saying:
Dark red; the nose is reserved, shows black berry, raspberry, is pretty lucid. The palate has iron inner grip, is naked, carries no spare flesh, deals a little late gras, juice.
Unfined, unfiltered, and bottled with almost no sulfur (10mg/l), Texier’s trademark Syrah is minimalist/non-interventionist/ “natural” winemaking at its best.
