At the beginning of the 2017 harvest, we challenged winemaker Ryan Pace to craft three Pinot Noirs from our vineyards throughout Santa Barbara. He ignored us and made a completely unexpected fourth Pinot anyway. We liked the wine so much, we bottled it and gave it a name that suits Ryan’s crusade to challenge convention. Unsanctioned Pinot Noir is sourced from our estate vineyards on the Central coast and explodes with juicy from our estate vineyards on the Central Coast and explodes with juicy plum boysenberry, underscored with a hint of brown spice.
If the regular Nielson is a 90-point wine, this one should be about 92.
