Sourced from two small parcels in Russian River Valley’s western edges, the 2017 Charm is a bright and ethereal Pinot Noir. Both vineyards are late ripening, low yielding, and meticulously farmed. Together these tiny farms combine to present the true essence of lively and balanced Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. A combination of Pommard, 115 and 777 clones, fermented with fifty percent whole cluster stem inclusion, employing delicate extraction techniques (minimal punchdowns and slow pumpovers), the Charm deftly combines fruit, floral, and spice components. Aged for fourteen months solely in used barrels to maintain vibrancy and verve the Charm carefully balances fruit intensity with supple acidity.
An ethereal and focused Pinot noir, the Charm exhibits beautiful rose petal, strawberry, and green tea aromatics. Firm tannins support the mid-palate filled with pomegranate, cardamom, and Rainer cherry. A fluid and textured finish reveals elements of cranberry, sage, geranium, and allspice.
