From the prime Red Hills AVA of Washington, and made by Philippe Melka’s team, this is a truly remarkable Cabernet value even at $17.

Wine Enthusiast 91 and Editors’ Choice:

This wine is unmistakably Cabernet, with its aromas of black currant, spice and dark fruit. The palate brings seriousness uncommon to see at a wine at this price, rich through the middle with plenty of structure to back it up.

Not only is this “uncommonly serious” for a $17 Cabernet; it’s also uncommonly delicious, smooth, opulent and irresistible. The kind of Cabernet only Melka and his team can deliver.

Here’s a spot on review from CellarTracker, too:

This is becoming ridiculous. I am almost to the point of not trying another Aquilini wine (not really) since they are all great and they are all at stupidly low price points. I realize that the family has more money than I could ever count in eight (80? 800?) lifetimes, so I imagine they are at least a little better at business plans than I (my next business plan will be my first), so take that last comment with the appropriate amount of derision. Rich fruit, good weight, and depth, just another solid effort. Really?

We’ve sold a ton of the equally delicious 2018 Be Human Red (a Cabernet blend), and are going to sell a ton more, but were only able to get seven cases of this.
