A uniformly outstanding, if warm to hot vintage across the region, producing wines that are in a deep, often muscular, darker fruited style than most years, but the fruit is energetic. The word here is more power than delicacy.

The 2018 version of our ultimate “Wednesday night wine” is a classic (and classy!) blend of 60% Yamhill-Carlton and 40% Dundee Hills fruit. For those of you with a Burgundian bent, that is like like having a “simple” Bourgogne Rouge with all the fruit sourced exclusively from 1er Cru vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertain and Vosne-Romanee! The Yamhill-Carlton portion is primarily from our estate vineyard, with a little bit of Foxy Rock. The Dundee Hills portion is about half Murto and half Bella Vida Vineyards.
With a 60/40 split between Yamhill-Carlton and Dundee Hills fruit, this wine combines the spicy, earthy aromatics of the volcanic Dundee sites with the silky, complex texture contributed by the YamhillCarlton vineyards.
This deliciously exquisite Pinot Noir has been rated “Outstanding” by Vinous in every vintage since 2002.
