A little digging revealed this is one of the oldest vineyards (1978) in the Willamette’s premier neighborhood (the Chehalem Mountains) – where such stalwarts as Ponzi, Penner Ash, Chehalem and Bergstrom reside. AND the grapes are grown either organically or biodynamically.
What’s more, there’s nothing about this excellent raw material that seems overwrought or overdone.
This one is the real deal.
Once again, quality vineyards (especially old and organically farmed ones) grow great grapes, and great grapes – minimally fussed with – make great wine.
