Reserved on the nose, this wine needs to be opened well in advance or brought out in 10 years. Aromas of black cherry and plum compote sneak out with hints of pepper, thyme, tobacco and dried earth. The dense palate is full of rich dark fruits, loads of spice and firm tannins with bright acidity. This wine needs time. Drink 2030–2045.
