In this top Pinot vintage, Wilfred Wong rates this the finest Eternally Silenced Pinot yet:
The Prisoner Wine Company Eternally Silenced is Pinot Noir on a different path. The 2018 vintage stays the course and tantalizes the New World wine drinker. TASTING NOTES: This wine takes its aromas and flavors on a darker fruit path than most others have made, and it stays well-focused on from start to finish. Pair it with a juicy, grilled ribeye.
The winery says:
Rich and elegant, soft and well-balanced. Aromas of pine needles, cranberry, dark cherry, cedar, clove, and brown spice lead to fresh red berry flavors, balanced acidity and an ample structure.
While certainly a bigger Pinot – which given the packaging will inevitably draw comparisons to Belle Glos – this is a much more “typical” Pinot Noir. And surely the most elegant and refined wine in the Prisoner’s portfolio.
As indeed it should be.
