93 from the Penin Guide – the best Veraton ever. And the best in years for the Wine Spectator, which says:
A silky red, offering an enticing, incense-laced range of raspberry puree and black plum reduction, dried lavender, iron and Earl Grey tea. Medium- to full-bodied, harmonious and fresh, with subtle hints of mocha and smoke enriching the finish. Drink now through 2029.
I like this (really very dead on) CellarTracker review:
Dark, brooding purple. After an hour in the bottle the wine started opening up and came to live. Lively notes of ripe plums, rich berries, vanilla, coffee filled the glass. Smooth, well-structured and elegant. Combines power and beauty effortlessly.
What a wine. Another wonderful creation from Chris Ringland.
Top vintage on Vivino, too. Here are a pair of reviews:
Wow! First Grenache from Spain and it’s a show stopper. 15.5% alcohol, but no heat or rough edges. Candied red fruit and cinnamon present. Medium to full body. Load up if you can find it!
I've said it before, I'll say it again and keep saying it. This wine absolutely slaps. Everyone at the table is reaching for the bottle to top up and can't get enough. Delicious everything and especially with our BBQ ribs
We have the best price anywhere for this fabulous 2019. And NC prices from other (lower rated) vintages range from $34.99 to $39.99.
