90 points from Wilfred Wong, who says:
The ELY by Callaway Cellars Paso Robles Chardonnay offers a lively and rich impact on the palate. TASTING NOTES: This wine exhibits aromas and flavors of savory spices, ripe fruit, and dried leaves. Enjoy it with a well-seasoned, oven-roasted chicken.
Vivino, also prices this at $19.99. Here are a few of their reviews:
Callaway cellars should be proud, this Chardonnay is smooth as butter. Pear, a bit of oak and some citrus notes, but not too much. Well-rounded Chardonnay that will not disappoint.
First impression was dry and citrusy, later impression includes butter, a touch of tropical notes and velvety smooth.
Full-bodied pear, apple, honey, walnut, and oak, with full mouthfeel, fades with body, interesting honey/walnut aura, and mild chalkiness, and finishes with a gentle tickle of oak. Quite distinctive and pleasant.
Like several of the better Paso Robles Cabernets, this is a serious bargain in high-quality, cooler-climate California Chardonnay, even at $20. At only $12.99, it’s just a super buy.
