The 2019 Chateau Trotanoy is a sensation:
- Dunnuck rates this a perfect 100 points;
- Vinous rates it the best Trotanoy ever and even better than the 2019 Petrus (which sells for a minimum of $6500!);
- Lisa Perroti-Brown (former Editor of the Wine Advocate) in her new Wine Independent rates it the best Trotanoy ever, too;
- As do a bunch of other critics worldwide (frm Decanter and Jancis Robinson to the German Falstaff).
I like what Vinous says:
Astounding. The palate is perfectly balanced with seamlessly integrated oak and a cashmere texture, complete and oozing effortless class. I don’t know whether to drink or elope with this Pomerol. Better, perhaps, to stick it away in a cool damp cellar for a decade and then make all your friends jealous when you serve it. A serious contender for wine of the vintage.
Yet we can offer this top 2019 vintage for $100 less than we sold (quickly) our tiny allocation of 2018 for – as well as $110 less than the lowest NC price for ANY vintage (and that vintage at $460 is the lesser 2017 one).
