Dunnuck 97:
I was pretty much blown away by the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Ritchie Vineyard, one of the finest expressions of this variety coming out of California. Ripe melon, hints of mango, leafy herbs, and some earthy minerality define the nose, and it’s exotic and complex, with medium to full-bodied richness on the palate. Aged in 32% new French oak, this concentrated, layered Sauvignon has good acidity, flawless balance, and a great finish. I don’t know how long it will age, but it should keep nicely for at least 4-6 years, and I certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see it keep longer. 291 cases.
Indeed, he rates it equal to the top Peter Michael Sauvignon Blanc ever, and better than Morlet’s (not to mention Haut-Brion Blanc!).
