The State’s best price on the top-rated Gundlach-Bundschu Estate Cabernet ever, and a Wine Enthusiast’s Editors’ Choice at $55:
This chunky, chocolaty wine from one of California's oldest wineries is saturated with black fruits, oak spices and fine-grained tannins that give it power and concentration. Excellent ripeness, depth and length bode well for continued aging. Best from 2025.
This is of course the deepest, darkest and most brooding of these – if not quite so velvety, silky and deliciously approachable now as the other three.
As Emerson says, this just blows away a lot of Napa Mountain Cabs at twice or more its price. (And it sells for $55 at the winery and elsewhere in NC.)
