Nearly as “magical” as – and frankly better over the nearer term than – the “perfect” 2018 Caberlot, Falstaff, which rates this 2019 Il Carnasciale the best ever, says:
Vivid garnet colour. Inviting nose with appealing vegetal notes of blackberry and elderberry, violet, a whiff of cherry compote, alternating with hints of white pepper and red bell pepper. Dense and elegant on the palate, spreading across delicately and juicily with tangible vigour. Exquisite and balanced in character, displaying a harmonious finish.
We blew through the 2018 vintage of this, and this 2019 is even finer.
