Here’s an extraordinarily delicious and satisfying rich red wine that ticks all the boxes: ancient vines, organically farmed, very much handcrafted, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Jancis Robinson loved it too, giving it a high (for her) 17/20:
Bright mid crimson. Really pure, polished fruit and a great, accessible expression of Mencía fruit. Attractive note of bitter cherries on the end. 17/20 points *Good Value*
In fact, she rates it not only the top Ultreia to date, but the best of any of Raul Perez’s wines since 2005. (Just a half-point behind his top $90 offering in its best vintage ever.)
