The same classicism – and nearly the same quality – as the Page Turner. But at an unprecedented price for a Cabernet of its pedigree, sheer quality and style.
The winery says:
Classic Bordelaise winemaking (handwork in vineyard, hand-picking and hand sorting, new French oak barrels, egg-white fining, unfiltered) provides an impeccably balanced result. The core of our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon comes from three sites situated within the Stag's Leap, Oak Knoll and Oakville AVA's. The Stag's Leap site delivered deep color, structure and depth. The Oak Knoll Cabernet site exemplifies its provenance with incredible balance. It is not "over-the-top." Our Oakville District site, next door to Screaming Eagle, again strutted its stuff, delivering deep color, high-quality grape tannin and aromatics.
No reviews yet, but even in the difficult 2017 vintage this earned 93 points from the Wine Enthusiast, which said:
Sumptuous dark cherry and clove greet the palate of this well-made wine, which is well integrated and silky smooth. Refined tannins wrap around a juicy core of additional cassis and currant, finishing in an elegant touch of vanilla oak.
A very high-quality Napa Cabernet…that much is obvious. But also no shortcuts here, in either vineyards or winemaking. This one is the real article.
