Vinous rates this not only equal to the Malbec and the $400 Volturno, but also the best Vina Cobos Cabernet Franc ever:
The 2019 Cabernet Franc Chanares Estate from Los Arboles, Uco Valley, was 50% aged in new barrels. Purple in color. The clean, delicate perfumed nose presents remarkably intense notes of sour cherry, ash and blackcurrant enchanced by a layer of mint and aromas from the aging process. Indulgent and expansive, the energy builds in the mouth, sculpting a palate of balanced freshness the enlivens the extremely finely grained tannins. The flavors are a precise combination of oak and just the right degree of ripe fruit.
