The Wine Spectator says:
Generous and fragrant, with orange blossom, melon, pear and ripe peach flavors that are succulent, refined and very refreshing, finishing with a touch of fresh chamomile.
New Zealand wine writer Sam Kim gives it 93 points:
Offering excellent fruit purity and poise, the wine shows white flesh nectarine, apricot, subtle spice and floral aromas on the nose, leading to a beautifully weighted palate that is texturally delightful and tasty. Wonderfully harmonious and lingering.
What I love about Yalumba’s Viognier is how it captures the freshness and complexity of the grape without being too floral, sweet or overbearing.
This 2019 is an especially delightful example. In fact, it has the Wine Spectator’s top score ever for this perennial Viognier bargain.
