Decanter 97 and “World’s Best Cabernet”:
Aspirational wine; densely packed with cassis, dark plum and menthol and enfolded in smoky, charred oak, with a rich chocolate texture and a bracing acidity which surrounds and cleanses. Impressively long and very well made.
The Wine Advocate also calls it “a fantastic wine,” and Dunnuck and Sucking rate it outstanding, too.
The winery, which sold out at $64, says:
Dark fruit with hints of blackberry cobbler, graphite, and sandalwood. Mostly grown on warmer sites of the Walla Walla Valley including our estate, Bob Healy Vineyard. Beautiful tannins that are lush and have a strong core that broadens out last minute to an ultra-long finish. A really pleasing and luxurious wine.
World Class Cabernet Sauvignon – and for what it is, tremendously under-priced. (In fact, I’m tempted to say it’s like being able to get Tom Brady with the last pick of the NFL draft!)
