We are the only store IN THE WORLD to list this very rare and very special luxury cuvee of Sancerre from Prieur, their top wine.
As the winery explains:
Comes from chalkly clay soil with a south exposition, the name of this Cuvée refer to an ancestor of Prieur family who was already exporting their wines more than a century ago. Matured on lies in oak barrel, it gives a toasted character to this fleshy wine, with an expressive citrus juice. A deeply delicious wine.
The few consumers who have tried this on Vivino agree:
A really lovely Sauvignon Blanc! I had a richness that didn’t go to syrup, good, bright fruit, balanced, acidity, and almost seashell notes to balance out the kiwi and lemon.
A juicy, fruity Sancerre, with a beautiful dress (its visual appearance) pale gold, a remarkable nose with aromas of white flowers, candied white fruits such as quince and peach. The mouth is rich with a very nice balance between fat and liveliness. A beautiful persistent length in the mouth with a return to spicy notes.
Magnificent evolved nose. Fruit but also lots of floral/vegetable notes which give character. Harmonious mouth. Very nice length. A beautiful identity in this wine.
Great complexity on this Sancerre. An expressive nose, exotic fruits and lots of freshness on the palate and a rich and long finish.
