The product of the smallest vintage ever (only 3650 bottles made), this is the most concentrated and probably the finest Pretty Malbec yet. And that’s saying something.
Indeed, in our blind tastings, our customers have picked prior vintages of this UNANIMOUSLY over the $125, 96-point Achaval-Ferrer "Bella Vista" Malbec. (It has also beaten Caymus, Silver Oak and Shafer Relentless!)
It's also the only pure Malbec made from the 103-year-old vines of the very first vineyard in Argentina to make a pure varietal Malbec - a vineyard many consider to be the finest in South America. (Jancis Robinson called it "magical," rating Fabre’s Malbec blend from here South America’s top wine of all.) And the producer that the British Masters of Wine twice named "Argentina's Greatest Winemaker."
You might wonder how we can offer such a great (and rare) wine so reasonably. The answer is three-fold. We have it imported just for us, and sell about half of what Fabre makes. Fabre is also the most reasonable top producer in Argentina - and therefore probably the World. Finally, our importer for these has by far the best prices anywhere for Fabre's wines...and gives us an even better deal on our exclusive for this.
But I guess the word is getting out, as we get less and less each year.
