When I say “top” Napa vineyard sources, I may be under-stating it a bit. This is from three very prestigious (I’m talking $100+) vineyards in Rutherford, Yountville and St. Helena, as well as one on Mount Veeder.
Our regular price of $24.99 would already be the state’s lowest price on this superb example of what the Wine Spectator calls Napa’s best Cabernet vintage ever. What’s more, this really shows why 2018 is so highly regarded: just perfect ripeness (with no excess), with also supreme elegance, balance and class.
This just tastes SO much fancier than its very reasonable price would indicate.
The only professional review for this vintage is from the Tasting Panel, which rates it outstanding, saying (the obvious) that “it certainly overdelivers for the price.”
This is one Napa Cabernet I’d be comfortable serving to an English aristocrat or even a Bordeaux proprietor. As well as, of course, the sort of riff raff I pal around with.
And I can’t think of another Napa Cabernet at this price I’d be so happy to drink myself. (In fact, and I don’t do this very often, I’m taking home the bottle I opened up to write this offer home to drink tonight!)
