The Pinot Noir ideal is this: great flavor without great weight.
And of all the Pinots we tasted, this amazing 2020 had the most wonderful, expansive, caressing and just plain delicious flavor – but on the least “heavy” frame.
It’s a Pinot Noir purist’s Pinot Noir. But I can’t imagine hardly anyone, even a very inexperienced taster, not finding this pretty much as delicious and enthralling as red wine gets.
Remember the big Pinot Noir speech in Sideways? THIS is what he was talking about.
Now, this sells at the winery for $50, and ours is the best price anywhere.
But the point is this is not only $100 material, but very special $100 material, in what turned out to be a dream vintage, for only $39.99.
I don’t know whether we will get another crack at this. After all, they only made 500 cases – and when top sommeliers especially get wind of this, I imagine they’ll snap it up immediately.
