From the generally acknowledge top premier cru in Chablis, and Servin’s oldest vines bordering the grand cru Blanchots, this is both a classic and a stunning Chablis.
Vinous rates it equal to Raveneau’s version in 2018 and better than Dauvissat’s:
The 2018 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru shows more structure and power than the other premiers crus in this range. Phenolic and savory, the 2018 is endowed with a real sense of energy and richness. The 2018 was bottled just two weeks before this tasting and is showing some element of angularity. Even so, it is impressive.
Burghound agrees:
An intensely floral-suffused nose is comprised mostly of notes of white peach, lemon rind and whisps of iodine. The super-sleek and refined middleweight flavorsalso possess solid volume before culminating in a dry, focused and sappy finish.
The Wine Advocate and Wine Enthusiast rate it outstanding, too.
Simply the finest Servin Premier cru to date, this has to be the single-finest value in top-rank premier cru Chablis.
