The 2020 Chardonnay Estate is a blend of all the Chardonnays and the result of a barrel selection. It storms out of the glass with powerful scents of apricots, ripe, juicy pears, and marzipan, plus hints of candied ginger and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is super intense, with beautiful tension and a creamy texture, finishing long with loads of mineral sparks.
And the Wine Advocate and Vinous, which called it “gorgeous, deep, rich, beautiful and distinctive,” raved over this, too. The Wine advocate, in fact, rated it even higher than the Pinot.
Dunnuck rates it the second-best Wayfarer Chardonnay ever.
