Projects on the way up show better wines year after year, regardless of the conditions of the year, which seems to be the case for A Pie de Tierra, whose village Garnacha from Méntrida 2021 A Dos Manos shows even better, more ethereal and delicate than the 2020 I tasted next to it. It was produced with grapes from different vineyards in Méntrida that fermented with 70% full clusters and had 25 days of maceration, then matured in used French oak barrels for one year. It has 14% alcohol and a pH of 3.35. It's medium-bodied, aromatic, clean and elegant and has very fine tannins. A bargain to buy by the case.
This may not be the most powerful wine we have at this price, but I suspect it’s the most beautiful…and definitely the most sophisticated.
