New Zealand’s leading wine writer, Sam Kim (Wine Orbit) rates this 94 points – his top score ever for any of the 60+ wines from this superb small producer he has reviewed, saying:
Pristine and instantly appealing with sweet strawberry, peach, citrus peel and floral aromas, it's juicy and lively on the palate delivering terrific fruit intensity combined with fine texture and silky mouthfeel, finishing long and refreshing. At its best: now to 2023.
And wine writer Raymond Chan agrees, giving this his top rosé rating of this epic (tiny crop, super-concentrated) New Zealand vintage:
Bright, pale salmon-pink, even colour throughout. The bouquet is voluminous and pretty with aromas of cherries, strawberries, melded with florals and a hint of pepper. Medium-light bodied, nuances of fresh cherries, strawberries interweave red florals and citrus; a hint of pepper lingers to a dry finish. The mouthfeel is chalky and fine, flows with mouthwatering acidity. This is a bright and youthful rosé well packed with berries on a refreshing palate. Serve as an aperitif or match with smoked salmon over the next 2-3 years.
