The Wine Advocate actually rated the Piedlong above the Brunier’s Vieux Telegraphe in 2020, and this 2021 is once again brilliant.
British Rhone expert Livingstone-Learmonth gave this his top 5-star rating, saying:
Clear red robe; spiced purity features on the nose, with rose perfume, an aroma of very neat red berries. The palate is very well juiced at the outset, carries its fruit with some gusto, certainly poise. It finishes with a tinkle of elegance, Burgundian style. It’s precise and floral-dainty, accumulates intensity of juice on the finish, where there is licorice. It can expand and blossom. “Its velvet is typical.
