Pinot Noir yields were even lower than those of Sauvignon Blanc in 2021 – which shows in the delicious concentration of this.
No reviews yet for the 2021, but here’s the International Wine Review on the 91-point 2019:
This is an outstanding example of Chavignol rosé with orange citrus and cherry skin scents. It’s full in the mouth with a perfumed palate of raspberry, rhubarb and lingering notes of melon. Great acidity and freshness. Made from 35 year old, organically cultivated Pinot Noir vines grown in the domaine’s 6 ha vineyard in Chavignol.
And Vinous on the “Outstanding” 2017:
Brilliant orange-pink. Fresh red berry, tangerine and candied rose scents are lifted by a dusty mineral quality. Shows very good energy and focus on the palate, offering subtly sweet raspberry and cherry flavors and a refreshingly bitter jolt of orange pith. The floral note returns on the persistent finish, which shows strong, nervy mineral cut.
This 2021 is certainly richer, finer and more intense than those more abundant and softer vintages.
