We are the only US store to have the highest-rated wine ever from Australian cult winemaker Joshua Cooper (along with his 2021 Ray-Monde Pinot Noir, which we also have). And we have it at the best price outside Australia.
Wine Front (sort of the Aussie version of the Wine Spectator, but far more serious), says:
Granitic soils planted to vines in 1999 and here with the chardonnay bits. It’s a ripper.
Texture and grace, a refinement and supreme length, fragrant, bright with chardonnay grape flavours and coursing with a mineral pulse that mixes briny tang and silty, talc-like powderiness. In the mix, a lick of nuttiness, oatmeal, barely there, beautiful though in the carriage of green apple and lemony-fresh vitality. Light, puckering tannin shapes things well and the wine finishes mouth-watering, minerally again and lightly nutty. Superb. Just. Damn. Superb.
And so it is.
To our taste, this pretty much smokes ANY American or Australian Chardonnay under $100…and most of them over $100, too.
