It earned 95 points from the Tasting Panel and Somm Journal at $56:
All native ferments and some whole cluster create texture and style. Dried roses, white-peppered pomegranate, red cherry, and spiced red tea are just a few of the layers in this structured Pinot Noir. Notes of umami ring true, with an absolute air of elegance.
Also best ever for Decanter:
Enticing dark forest berries and clove accents, with a touch of cedarwood and a toasty graham cracker aromatic lift. Medium- to full-bodied, there’s even a subtle reductive edge—something like struck match or lentils—that quickly gives way to crunchy cherry fruit, plum, and flamed orange peel. The palate shows excellent concentration, with silky, plush fruit carried through to a long, wet-stone mineral finish.
And from CellarTracker:
Deep ruby color. Gorgeous aromas of black cherries, red and black plums, along with strawberry jam – saucy but fresh with scents of spiced black tea, tobacco, rose hips, and white pepper. The palate sports dusty tannins, deep texture, but such lively acidity, making for a fresh but rich wine. Lovely concentration of fruit (black cherry, raspberry, tangy strawberry) and the fruit is mixed well with tones of mint, rose, violets, spiced tea, some clay, loamy earth. Hints of cedar and clove are blended in expertly. Drinking great now, but no rush at all, as I’d love to see how this develops.
