Revue de Vin de France says:

Vincent Stoeffler has been running the estate founded by his father in the 1960s since 1986. It now boasts over 17 hectares of vines, managed entirely organically since 2000, and offers a number of terroir-based wines.

Since the first editions of the Guide, the estate's Rieslings have often been featured prominently. Here is his fifth Coup de Coeur for this grape variety. The clay-limestone soils of Kirchberg de Barr contribute to the richness and power of this still discreet, saline wine, held together by a lovely acidic edge.

Its floral aromatic palette (acacia, linden) is tinged with a slight overripeness (yellow fruits, honeyed notes), undoubtedly favored by the grand cru's southern exposure. The orange peel notes of the finish leave the memory of a complex and harmonious bottle (residual sugars: 2.5 g/L).

If you love classically “steely” and “petrolly” dry Alsation Riesling, but in its richest and most impressive expression, this one is a must.

Especially at below half-price.
