I think Suckling’s 93-point review gives a pretty good idea of just how singular and serious this superb Chardonnay is:
This is very salty and fresh with lots of dried apple and hints of Korean pear. It’s medium-to full-bodied with very lively acidity and goes on for a long time. Think Chablis and other high-acidity chardonnays. Serious.
And Vinous, which also rates it the best ever, agrees, rating it 92 (quite high for them) and saying:
The 2021 Chardonnay Reserva, from Tupungato, Mendoza, spent eight months in used barrels. Yellow in color. The aromatic profile features pear, linden blossom and lime zest accompanied by lactic and caramel aromas. Complex for its price range, it has a terse feel with an expansive, agile flow that delivers clear flavors before the oaky finish. Very good value for money.
If this were from Chablis (or for that matter the Sonoma Coast), it would easily sell for $50 or more.
