Wine is due to arrive in late July.
The winery says:
Zinfandel was a favorite of late Caymus co-founder Charlie Wagner Sr., and we continue to make a small amount in his honor. We also love the high-quality Zin that can be produced in California.
With this vintage we return to the original California sourcing for this wine, which was first released in 1974. Our Vineyard sites include such areas as Napa Valley, Lake County, Suisun Valley, Lodi and Monterey County.
Oak-driven with notes of cherry, cedar box, nutmeg, vanilla bean, potpourri and pencil shavings. Mild, soft entry, becoming more rustic in both texture and oak. Ripe pomegranate, cherry, unsweetened baking chocolate and traces of tree bark on the finish. NOSE PALATE Ripe but not heavy, with earthiness, spice and vibrant fruit. Aged in French oak for 21 months.
I think customers have asked us if we can get this wine more than any other Wagner Family wine. And the answer was always no. Well, now’s your chance…
But reserve some now to make sure you get it!
