VISUAL : clear and shiny goldish yellow, with green hints when young
NOSE : fresh and subtile citrus aromas with notes of exotic fruits and honey
PALATE : intense and elegant, this wine is balanced with vibrant minerality and packed with fruits and almond flavours. This medium-body wine will develop its aromatic potential with ageing.
And I like this Australian review:
From the heart of southern Burgundy, Cave Du Lugny’s Mâcon La Carte Chardonnay 2022 is expressive, vibrant and layered - and a brilliant expression of refined chardonnay with a sense of place.
This expressive white opens with fresh citrus zest, delicate white florals, and a subtle whisper of honey, followed by notes of exotic fruits and a touch of almond on the finish. Its luminous golden hue with youthful green glints hints at the wine’s clarity and freshness. While it's drinking beautifully now, it also has the structure and depth to develop further with time in bottle.
No US reviews on this, but the Wine Enthusiast rated both the 2019 and 2020 vintages 91 points, singling both out as “Best Buys.”
You just don’t see top single-vineyard white Burgundy like this under $20.
