The Wine Spectator rates this the top Gemina (or Annia) yet. And Decanter rated it the top Massican ever – as well as one of their “Wines of the Year,” saying:
The 2022 Gemina is a blend of 62% Greco and 38% Falanghina and should come from vines planted in the volcanic hills of Campania, and tastes as though it might, but in fact comes from organically farmed vineyards in Dunnigan (Yolo County), Russian River (Sonoma), and Lodi (San Joaquin County) in California. Dan Petroski has crafted a lovely, pretty, layered white with delicate lemon and lime zest notes, jasmine, and lightly toasted almonds. Explicitly tart with bracing acidity underscoring pithy lime, kiwi, and grapefruit zest. Clean, sleek, and with the kind of mouth-puckering acid tension that can slice through oysters on the half shell or a parmesan-crusted Dover Sole.
Best ever on CellarTracker, too, with this review:
Wow! Very crisp white wine with notes of citrus and high minerality. Fantastic.
