Decanter’s top Ackerman Cabernet ever – equal to their rare 2022 Cabernet Reserve:
The 2022 Ackerman Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville is a powerful and muscular wine with mulberry, cassis, black olive, and black liquorice aromatics. These notes transform beautifully on the medium-to full-bodied palate, which is finely delineated. The firm, fine tannins frame a deeply penetrating core of red berry fruit and spices, complemented by the classic cool Coombsville wild herb character and a lengthy finish of graphite and loamy earth. A truly lovely effort in 2022.
Best ever for Suckling, too:
Delicious, sleek and harmonious, a beauty from southern Napa Valley in a year that was troublesome farther north. An elegant blend of dark berries, blackcurrants, violets and turned earth on the nose, then a super-silky texture of powdery tannins, cocoa, blackberry syrup and spearmint on the palate. Drink now or hold.
Also best ever Ackerman for Perrotti-Brown and best since 2016 for the Wine Enthusiast.
A truly extraordinary deal on top-notch $125 Coombsville Cabernet.
