Knights Valley, in the foothills of Mount Saint Helena, is both the warmest and highest elevation AVA in Sonoma, with volcanic soils ideal for producing quality Cabernet and red Bordeaux varietals.
Beringer is of course its pre-eminent producer, with Peter Michael its most expensive.
In this top vintage, it equaled their $65 Napa Cabernet, as well as their $150 Malbec from the Bancroft Ranch. And also their $75 Knights Valley Reserve Cabernet.
So really a quite remarkable bottle of high-quality Cabernet for only $25.
I just wish we could get more of it.
