Not only is this pure grand cru Chouilly Chardonnay; over 70% of it is from the top single vineyard in Cramant, Les Partelaines. Plus there’s a healthy proportion of reserve wines.
The Wine Enthusiast rates this “Outstanding” at $80, saying:
Produced from grand cru vineyards in Chouilly, this wine shows how tight Chardonnay can open out with just a few years on the lees. The 30% reserve wines also bring in their sense of maturity to a wine that is ready to drink.
The Wine Spectator has also rated every single release of this since 1992 outstanding.
Vincent Legras is the 11th generation of winemakers here, beginning in 1662. And he’s one of the most serious grower/winemakers in Champagne.
